Choose outfits that make you feel confident -- when you feel confident in your clothes, that feeling translates into your photos and expression. Stick with solid colours & avoid heavy patterns or prints. Multiple outfits in multiple colors allows you to choose the one that photographed the best. Colours should compliment skin tone and the environment you're in. Keep jewelry simple or minimal -- for headshots, you want your clients focused on connecting with you and not anything that could distract from that. Your head shot should be an extension of your brand -- wear something aligned with that and something you'd wear to meet with your clients, it builds trust.

On the day of the shoot, I will guide you through all the poses that are comfortable and flow. We want you to look confidant, competent, and approachable. Each pose will communicate success and feel inviting so that people look forward to hiring you. I know all the lighitng and posing tips and tricks to slenderize, communicate approachability, and flatter your figure so all you have to do is walk in, relax, and feel at ease that you will have the best coaching.

I suggest staying true to your normal style and authentic every day look -- you want to stay true to your credibility. Makeup done by a professional makeup artist can make you look like the polished version of your everyday, without going over the top. If you want to do your own makeup, that is perfectly fine, whether done by a professional or yourself, your head shot should be realistic and true to you.

• Prepare your clothing in advance -- ironed and on hangers--so you are not stressed out the day of your shoot.
• Avoid red, blood-shot eyes! -- an oversight many people overlook. *** Tip: Before your session, try Lumify eye drops to make your eyes look clear -- and a tad bigger too! --make sure you get enough sleep the night before, are well-rested, and hydrated.
• Avoid suntans or last minute skin treatments that could cause irritation.
• Avoid flyaways with a clear eyebrow gel, aloe vera gel, or even a stick of deodorant as a last minute fix -- it works!
